Supported Gardening Sessions

allotment gardening sessions

“Outdoors socialising has helped shift some of the darkness I feel daily”

Spending time outside and enjoying nature is really good for your mental and physical health. Our supported gardening sessions are a fun way to meet new people and learn some new skills. People tell us that they feel less isolated and that their confidence grows after taking part.

The sessions are ideal for you if you need a bit of extra help recovering after a period of poor mental health, crisis or difficulty. They are also good if you want to boost your wellbeing and to get outside in the fresh air in a safe and supportive setting. Gardening is proven to help with insomnia, anxiety, loneliness, low mood and stress related illnesses.

The sessions are led by our experienced allotment support worker and volunteers. You can take part in the gardening sessions for 6 – 12 weeks. That is up to you.

The group runs every Wednesday and you will receive detailed information before your first visit so you know what to expect.
