New Peer Support Group – Exploring Together

Peer – Led Learning

Exploring Together Sessions are a safe and supportive space for people experiencing mental health challenges to come together, share experiences, and support one another. We offer 8 sessions, each focusing on a different topic reflecting common experiences.

In each session you will have the opportunity to explore thoughts, feelings, and coping strategies together. All sessions are confidential and safe and you will have the opportunity to connect with others and be listened to without judgement. By talking things through and recognising what you’re good at, these sessions can help you feel better in yourself, build your confidence, and boost your self-esteem.

Tuesdays 12 – 2 pm Victoria House

30th June: Taking care of ourselves

This session will focus on how we look after ourselves when we are experiencing poor mental health. The session will cover self-care that is realistic for you focusing on sleeping, eating and movement.

7th July: Keeping life on track

This session will focus on how we stay on top of things such as admin, appointments and routines. We will look at systems that can help us.

14th July: Coping with life’s challenges

This session will focus on how we cope when we experience setbacks, feel stressed and have low mood. We will look at coping strategies which may help.

21st July: Making relationships work

This session is about feeling more comfortable and respected in relationships and helpful ways we can manage expectations with family and friends.

28th July: Finding ways to relax

This session will focus on how we can find moments that bring joy and relaxation. We will look at how we can achieve this, share ideas and try some gentle activities.

4th August: Asking for what we need

This session will look at how we can find our voice so we can speak up in everyday life. This could be when speaking with friends, family, at work or with services we use – especially when it feels difficult to do so.

11th August: Making friends and meeting people

This session will look at how we can increase our confidence when trying to make new friends and meet people. We will also talk about how we can reduce loneliness and isolation.

18th August: Building healthy habits

This session will look at how we can make healthier habits more likely to stick with us for the longer term.
