Important Notice –
We are not currently recruiting any volunteers but if you would like to help us in the development of our Young People’s Services please do get in touch as we are keen to get as much input from young people as possible. We would like to understand what support young people need and how they would like this support to be made available. Please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org if this is of interest.
Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills and to grow in confidence, as well as it being a way to help others.
There is strong link between volunteering and improving mental health. Young people have told us they like to volunteer as it makes them feel valued, helps them learn new skills, provides routine, develops experience that can help with applications and looks good when applying for college.
*We are not currently recruiting any volunteers*
For the majority of roles available, you do not need to have any experience, specialist skills or qualifications. We welcome all young people to apply and focus on your ability to demonstrate our values, rather than on your experience. The qualities we look for in our volunteers are:
- Ability to relate to and empathise with other young people
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially listening skills
- Ability to be non-judgemental, self-aware, patient, flexible and supportive
- An ability to demonstrate our core values: openness; belonging; strength; collaboration
- An ability to take your own initiative
We will make reasonable adjustments for anyone with additional needs. If you would like to visit, have a chat or would like these volunteer roles explained in a different way, please get in contact with us on 0161 221 3054 or email.
I’ve been coming for about a year as a volunteer. I look forward to coming every week. I’m not as much of a loner now. I have made friends here and feel part of it
