Community Mental Health Practitioner Service

Our Community Mental Health Practitioner (CMHP) at Manchester Mind supports young people aged 13-18 who live in Manchester to manage their emotional wellbeing.

Our Community Mental Health Practitioner (CMHP) at Manchester Mind supports young people aged 13-18 who live in Manchester to manage their emotional wellbeing. In these sessions we provide support with common mental health issues, such as anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem and managing difficult feelings.

How we can help you

Our service is free for anyone aged 13-18 who live in Manchester and interpreters can be provided.

Many people don’t seek help when they feel they are struggling with their mental health right away, and taking that first step may feel daunting. Accessing support with our CMHP can ease you in to talking to a professional in a flexible and relaxed environment.

Our CMHP provides one-to-one support to improve your mental health and to help you set goals, build coping strategies and make positive choices in your life. We can also help with supported referrals into other services should you feel is right for you, such as our Counselling or Advice service and other local organisations.

This service is currently being offered via telephone or video-call. Our CMHP offers flexibility around appointment days and times whilst the service operates remotely.

We know that the lifting of all existing restrictions with regard to COVID-19 will for many people be a relief and be welcome, but for others it will be causing great anxiety.

As an organisation we need to ensure that we are managing these changes carefully and have a service update detailing how we will be responding over the coming months.
