Food Preparation & Support Worker

Part-time role supporting our Food For All team to deliver a number of interconnected food-related projects that will improve access to food, and reduce isolation and loneliness.

Manchester Mind is looking to recruit a Food Preparation & Support Worker. The role will involve supporting our Food For All team to deliver a number of interconnected food-related projects that will improve access to food, and reduce isolation and loneliness. We would like to work with someone who is experienced and passionate about providing people with good food and enabling improved access to mental health support.

Salary: £21,108 (£10,554 actual)

Contract: Until March 2023 (extension dependent upon funding)

Hours: 17.5 hours per week

The skills and knowledge that are important to us are:

  • Experience of preparation and delivery of food within health and safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Ability to develop kind relationships that lead to people feeling accepted and able to contribute.
  • Ability to work in a way that recognises the potential for individuals to develop potential.
  • Clear and meaningful communication skills – the ability to listen and enable people to feel heard, accepted and understood
