Manchester city landscape

Tuesday 13 June at Zion Community Resource Centre in Hulme at 11:00am

(339 Stretford Road, Hulme, Manchester, M15 7ZY)

Thursday 22 June at Woodville SureStart Centre at 1:30pm

(Shirley Rd, Cheetham Hill, Cheetham, Manchester M8 0NE)

These are recruitment and information sessions for Manchester Volunteer Advice Partnership’s (MVAP) next round of training.

We run 9-week training courses (sessions every Tuesday) teaching you how to give good quality advice on welfare benefits and housing, as well as assertiveness and communication skills. During this training, you will also be placed as a volunteer at one of our advice centres, your choice – either Manchester Refugee Support Network, Cheetham Hill Advice Centre, Manchester Mind or the Town Hall Project (at the Booth Centre). Follow the links for more details. This placement will be half a week day, usually a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday.

The training covers the specifics of welfare benefits and housing, as well as assertiveness and communication skills.

We will begin each event with an overview of what is involved in the training and volunteering placements. You will then have the opportunity to meet the inclusion support officer to discuss any questions and concerns.

Please email Amby to let them know if you’d like to come!

Feel free to email Amby with any questions.
