We have spaces for people to volunteer in our vibrant community café. This will involve learning to cook, serve customers and working with our cafe mentors to plan a weekly menu.
Volunteers talk about volunteering being a fun activity. They talk about increased confidence and enjoying meeting new people. It is a free activity that will get you out of the house and let you try new things.
We really appreciate the time and effort of all our volunteers. We provide travel expenses and full training for all our volunteers.
We give support and supervision to all volunteers and can help you to think about what you might like to do next. This might be work, study or more volunteering. The experience you gain with us can be used on CVs, job applications and college applications.
Times Café volunteers come in from Tuesday to Thursday during office hours. Most people volunteer for roughly 3 hours a week. We will agree the best time with you. Mentoring takes place from Monday to Friday. Mentors volunteer for around 3 hours a week and travel around Manchester to meet up with other young people.
Age limit The volunteers at YASP are all aged 15-25. This is because they act as excellent role models for other young people. We will soon have roles for over 25 year olds at YASP and there are also other volunteering opportunities for over 25’s within our charity - you can find out about this Here or phone 0161 226 9907
